SK.EIN is a personal project of musician and architect Sergei Kravchenko, a member of the Port Mone trio. SK.EIN actively uses field recording in his work; for example, the recording of the Catholic liturgy became the starting point of his debut album Crossfades. In his youth, Sergei explored various musical aesthetics, including playing drums in punk rock and reggae bands. The only thing that has never changed is the fixation on literally everything. This, in turn, combined with the architect's habit of structural thinking, a natural desire for improvisation, experimentation, and love of ambient and minimalism, is an integral part of SK.EIN's creativity.

About the track:

"There is an Israeli TV series Shtisel. There is a scene where the grandmother recalls her past in Minsk and hums this melody as if she is a famous Minsk nigun. But in fact, it was invented by the author of the series, Ori Elon, and presented as an existing traditional melody. The version I used was written by Charles Heller for the Kensington Camerata in Toronto, and performed by the latter. And now I am returning this melody to Minsk."
